The exercise library
How exercises work in ClimbrLab: the shared catalogue everyone sees, how to create your own with video, and how to adapt a catalogue one safely.
The app interface is currently in Spanish only. Buttons and messages are quoted as you will see them, with the English meaning in brackets.
Ejercicios (Exercises) holds two kinds of record, and they behave differently.
The shared catalogue
These are the exercises that ship with ClimbrLab. Everyone sees them, coaches and athletes alike, and they are identical for everybody: same video, same description, same instructions.
They cannot be edited or deleted, and that is deliberate: if every coach could change them, they would stop being a common reference and your athletes would see a different version depending on who trains them.
Your exercises
The ones you create. Only you and the athletes you coach see them, and you can edit or delete them whenever you like.
To create one, press Crear ejercicio personalizado (Create custom exercise) at the end of the list. The wizard has four steps:
- Basics - name and category.
- Detail - description, instructions, muscle groups and equipment.
- Media and body - the video or image, and the body areas it works, on the diagram.
- Review - a look over before saving.
Adapting a catalogue exercise
If one from the catalogue works for you but you want to change the sets, the instructions or the equipment, open it and press Duplicar para editar (Duplicate to edit).
That creates a copy of your own, pre-filled and editable, and the original stays untouched for everyone else. The copy reuses the same video, so you do not have to upload anything again and it is instant.
Video and image
On the media step you pick one of the two: video or image. Choosing one discards the other, because the record shows a single piece of media.
If you upload video, ClimbrLab grabs a frame automatically and uses it as the cover in the list. You do not have to prepare a thumbnail: you will briefly see the “Generando portada…” (Generating cover…) notice and it handles itself.
What is accepted:
| Formats | Maximum size | |
|---|---|---|
| Video | mp4, webm, ogg, mov, mkv | 2 GB |
| Image | jpg, jpeg, png, gif, webp | 10 MB |
Video is uploaded straight to storage without passing through the server, so it copes with long clips. Even so, ten to thirty seconds is the norm for a technique demonstration: that is what an athlete will actually watch before starting to train.
Dynamometer exercises
Some records are flagged as Tindeq exercises, which need a Progressor dynamometer to perform. They can only be assigned to athletes who have declared one on their profile, so if an exercise does not appear while you are building a session, check that first.
Searching and filtering
The list has a search box for name and tag, plus filters by category and difficulty. You can switch between list and grid view with the two buttons at the top right; grid works better when you are looking for the image, list when you are looking for the name.
