Using the Tindeq Progressor

What you can measure with a Tindeq in ClimbrLab, how to connect it over Bluetooth on mobile and desktop, and what still works with no device at all.

The app interface is currently in Spanish only. Buttons and messages are quoted as you will see them, with the English meaning in brackets.

The Tindeq Progressor is a dynamometer that measures grip force. ClimbrLab connects to it over Bluetooth and stores the full force-over-time curve, not just the final number.

What you can do with it

  • Inside a session, on exercises flagged as Tindeq: the measured peak is recorded as the load.
  • When completing a metric your coach defined with a dynamometer, following its guided protocol.
  • Free test, to measure each hand on the spot without it being recorded. This button only appears if your profile says you own one.

What works without a Tindeq

Everything else: your plan, the training player with loads noted by hand, session feedback, routes, injuries, messages and manual metrics of number, time or scale type.

The only thing your coach cannot assign you are the metrics flagged as Tindeq.

How to connect it

Depends on where you use ClimbrLab:

WhereHow it connects
Mobile app (Android or iOS)The system’s native Bluetooth
Chrome or Edge on desktopThe browser’s Web Bluetooth
Safari on iPhone or iPadDoes not work: use the app

If you see «Este navegador no soporta Bluetooth. Usa Chrome/Edge en escritorio o la app móvil» (This browser does not support Bluetooth. Use Chrome/Edge on desktop or the mobile app), this is why.

Taring: do not skip it

On connecting, the app forces you to tare before measuring, and rightly so. The message explains it:

Coloca el Tindeq en tu posición de agarre y suéltalo por completo, sin tocarlo ni tirar de él. Cuando esté quieto, pulsa «Tarar».

(Set the Tindeq in your gripping position and let go of it completely, without touching or pulling on it. Once it is still, press “Tare”.)

The key part is in your gripping position. If you tare with the device hanging some other way and then reposition it, the weight of the rig itself leaks into the measurement and your numbers come out shifted. It is the most common mistake and it makes comparison between sessions worthless.

Each test re-tares automatically at the start, and you will see «Tarando… no toques el dispositivo» (Taring… do not touch the device) followed by a countdown.

Bilateral measurement

If the test is bilateral you get tabs for right hand and left hand, with their two graphs. You can overlay them to compare, and the app calculates the difference between hands as a percentage, indicating which side is stronger.

Each hand can be repeated separately without losing the other.

Battery

The percentage is visible while connected, and below 20% it warns you. With a low battery the readings become unreliable: if you are about to run a test you want to compare with previous ones, charge it first.

If it will not connect

The message is «No se pudo conectar con el Tindeq. Comprueba que está encendido.» (Could not connect to the Tindeq. Check that it is switched on.) Check that the device is on, that it is not already connected to another app or another phone, and that the battery has not run out.

If you bought a Tindeq after signing up

The app asks whether you own one once only, in the onboarding questionnaire, and there is no way to change that answer afterwards yet. Write to us and we will enable it on your profile.
