Linking up with your coach

The app interface is currently in Spanish only. Buttons and messages are quoted as you will see them, with the English meaning in brackets.

There are two routes, and both happen during the onboarding questionnaire. That is the most important thing on this page: once you finish the questionnaire, you can no longer change coach from within the app.

With your coach’s code

Your coach has a code they find in their Invitaciones (Invitations) section. Ask for it and paste it into the first step of your questionnaire, where it says «Busca a tu entrenador por nombre o código» (Search for your coach by name or code).

That search box accepts either: their name or the code. Select them, finish the questionnaire, and you are linked immediately.

Note that your coach gets no notification when you link this way. You will appear in their athlete list, but it may take them a while to notice. If you agreed on something, tell them through another channel.

With an email invitation

If your coach prefers, they send an invitation to your email. You will receive a message with the subject «{Your coach} te invita a entrenar · ClimbingLab» and a Crear mi cuenta (Create my account) button.

The link expires after 7 days.

Opening it shows the sign-up screen with your coach’s name and photo at the top and your email already filled in. Through this route:

• We do not ask whether you are a climber or a coach: your account is created as a climber.
• Your questionnaire skips the “Tu entrenador” (Your coach) step, because it is already settled.
• On the last step you will see a card confirming who your coach will be.

There is no “Accept” button: the link is confirmed on its own when you press Finalizar (Finish) in the questionnaire.

If that is not your coach

That card has a link to decline the invitation. Pressing it brings the “Tu entrenador” step back into the questionnaire, and you will have to pick someone to be able to finish.

In other words: declining the invitation does not let you continue without a coach, even though the link text suggests it might. You will need another coach’s code.

Changing coach later

Not possible from the app, neither by you nor by your coach. If you change coach, write to us and we will move you across.

If your coach says your email “already has an account”

They will have hit this notice while trying to invite you: «Ese email ya tiene una cuenta en ClimbingLab. Comparte tu código de entrenador para vincularlo.» (That email already has a ClimbingLab account. Share your coach code to link it.)

That is normal if you had already signed up before they invited you. The fix is the first section above: get them to send you the code.
